Round seven of the 2021 championship calendar is just 7 days away when the fight will resume for vital points in an already extremely close season.
Last weekend in Baku, Red Bull’s Sergio Perez claimed the win after an incredibly eventful race – lifting him into third in the Drivers’ standings with 69 points.
Joining him on the podium was Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel, marking his first podium for Aston Martin – and the team’s first podium in F1.
Filling the final step in Baku’s podium shake-up was the AlphaTauri of Pierre Gasly, after battling his way to the chequered flag wheel-to-wheel with the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc.
The antics of last weekend meant there was no movement with the top two in the Drivers’ standings – Verstappen remains in 1st with 105 and Hamilton is in second with 101 – after neither scored any points last time out.
The French Grand Prix is likely to throw another intense battle our way.
Hamilton has been victorious at the last two outings in France, however, the Red Bull has shown to be extremely quick this season … so there really is a hefty question mark over who will take the win next weekend with all things considered.
