The paddock is buzzing in Bahrain once again as we return to action after the winter break.
A number of teams are the bud of the conversation at the moment as viewers catch a glimpse of the tremendous work that has been going on in the background for months.
With the sweeping regulation changes, the opportunity to be at the top is wide open this year as each team works to understand their new machinery – and one outfit that has people talking, in particular, is the boys in red.
The Maranello-based crew has been impressing spectators in Bahrain with their performance, and although it’s tough to really see everyone’s true potential during testing, fans don’t have long to wait for the season opener.
One former Ferrari driver who has high hopes for the prancing horses in 2022 is Jean Alesi who told Sky Sports about the team’s championship hopes for the new season.
“The last two years Ferrari had bad seasons because even if last year they finished third in the championship, that was recovering from a terrible season before,” he said.
“It’s a winning a team, a team who are always looking for world championships, podiums and wins.
“They are really dreaming to be back on the top. The fans and the teams, I believe after testing, the car looks very competitive.
“Without single problem for reliability, which is absolutely important, we’ve never seen the car in low-speed corners or high-speed corners in a bad situation, so I hope they can be back on top.”
