It’s the final day of pre-season testing in Bahrain, and as the final four hours on track commence, the last slew of drivers have taken to the track.
Throughout the weekend, there has been plenty of action on track, including a number of gearbox issues, plenty of off-track skids, and just a couple of red-flags halting the sessions, however, day three is showing improvements across the board with all 10 teams running well so far.
Hitting the top of the morning time charts was Red Bull’s newcomer, Sergio Perez, who crossed the line at 1:30.187s, passing out the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc and the McLaren of Lando Norris who both found themselves in and out of the top spot this morning.
Speaking after getting out of the car this morning Perez said; “It’s crazy to think pre-season is over! But all in all I’m happy with it.”
When asked if he was ready for March 28‘s season-opener, he told Sky: “I’ve got no other option but to be ‘ready’ for the first race.
“We just have to make the most of it, step by step, be patient in the beginning and things will come to us.”
“The car feels really good, certainly there is a good potential. I’m really excited for the season, it feels like we have a good car underneath us.”
The afternoon testing is now underway, with just over 3 hours to go.
